Jan 22nd, Tuesday

Heading West and North towards Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

Nothing eventful at breakfast or lunch except the ice cream (maple nut) tasted sour to me and Chris confirmed it, but as reported to the chef, he claims it wasn’t. Since I have a discriminating palate, I know I was correct.

We had lunch with a couple from near Davenport Iowa, 11 children 35 grand children and enjoyed their company at lunch.

Chris went to look into acupuncture treatments and I went to the classical Guitar concert and then the pool. I find it amazing the bathing suits some people wear – spandex, etc. I find it’s best given the average age of people on this cruise (70 I’d guess), not to look at the bathers too much.

We went to an alternate dinner arrangement (didn’t feel like getting dressed formal) that is first come first serve theme based that runs 3 days at a time. This one was oriental with a fixed menu. Chris was shocked because I ate sushi as well as barbecued pork bellies. The dinner was excellent and we’ll do it again when they have the Italian theme.

The entertainment was good – a review of Elton John music by the ship’s dance company. Much better than the West Side Story review they did.
