Jan 26th, Saturday

Good day in Acapulco starting with a tour of old town and a stop at the Los Flamingos Hotel which was a 1960’s hangout for Hollywood stars John Wayne and others. Acapulco is beautiful but hot and humid. Can’t imagine what it’s like in May. Only one golf course was mentioned and it had only 9 holes.

We stopped and watched the cliff divers and got very good pictures, then traveled through new Acapulco to the La Paz Chapel at the highest point overlooking St. Lucia Bay. When we got back to the ship we had a quick lunch – hamburgers and fries – then after a little rest saw a show of Mexican folk dancers and musicians. They were great.

Nothing notable at dinner, our dinner companions didn’t make it. Chris and I were both beat and called it an early night to get ready for Manzanillo. No dessert even.
