Jan 27th, Sunday

Manzanillo Bay is smaller than Acapulco Bay (Santa Lucia Bay) but as beautiful. I like the town of Manzanillo better than Acapulco. It certainly is less commercialized and much less crowded. Manzanillo is Mexico’s major port and as a result the town has a low unemployment rate.

We were given a tour of the small downtown square area and then after some shopping we were taken to the Las Hadas Hotel on the Peninsula over looking the bay. The hotel’s claim to fame is that it’s where the movie 10 with Bo Derek was filmed. It’s certainly on a beautiful spot. We were entertained by a mariachi band before and during lunch. Margaritas to make the time go (but they tasted like they were made as Pina Coladas but with tequila (coconut on the glass not salt). In any event lunch served on the patio over looking the bay, great atmosphere, great food.

Passed a couple of golf courses and the tour guide said the greens fees ranged from $125 to $200. They have a Walmart and Bruger King, McDs coming.

Back at the ship we relaxed, did some laundry and got ready for dinner. Had a good time at dinner, White Forest Cake for dessert. Then went to the show which was pretty good.

Two days at sea before Los Angeles.
