Weather cooler but humid and overcast. We turned the clocks ahead an hour and I was up for my morning walk a little later then usual.
While we were told to expect high winds and some rough seas, it never occurred so the day has been pleasant. We had breakfast and lunch with John and Janet from Southampton. They’re leaving the ship in Auckland, New Zealand and vacationing there for a week before they return home. We’ll miss them.
It’s a formal night and a Valentine’s Day Ball. We were invited to a Captain’s cocktail party before dinner. Our dinner companions are also leaving, they live in Auckland, we will miss them also, but new people mean new stories. The evening entertainment was a mix of 4 entertainers we’ve seen before. One really weird act was the comedic acrobat we’ve seen before who simply ran on stage in a circle yelling “I love you” then disappeared in the audience never to be seen again. Even the entertainment director was shocked after the audience waited 5 minutes for something else to happen.
I got Chris roses and she got me chocolate and cookies. We also got flowers for Valentine’s Day from Janie, our travel agent, which was sweet. Of course the cabin is starting to look like a hospital room with all the flowers (we got a plant when we came on board also).
