We arrived in Wellington, New Zealand around 8 am Sunday morning to a bunch of small boats escorting us into the dock. Wellington is a beautiful city and the capital of New Zealand. We relaxed in the morning waiting for our tour in the afternoon.
We visited the Parliament building – called the beehive – it’s shaped like one. They gave us a tour and then we went to the botanical gardens where they have a rose garden with hundreds of variations of roses. After that we went to their local historic museam on the waterfront. It’s very modern and we had only time enough for an hours visit of only one floor.
Dinner with Gustav and Irene from Sidney and then a short period of music by the classical guitarist and I was really tired out from three days straight of tours. I have been doing my morning walks since the tours were in the afternoons, so I think it all caught up to me.
It’s been great - we have three days at sea before we get to Melbourne, Australia so we can rest up….
