February 27, Wednesday

Sailing towards Port Douglas, Australia, the weather has gotten very tropical, warm and humid and partly cloudy. Breakfast with four other new acquaintances two from Australia and two from the US, we had some good conversations and look forward to seeing them again. Chris had to leave to finish with some laundry and I went back to the cabin to edit the pictures from Brisbane and update our blog.

Lunch was interesting because one of the men at the table and I had a discussion about computers. He was a little far out because he claimed he’s read about some UK scientists who have successfully created a teleportation device and have been able to move a glass three feet – like Star Trek – beam me up Scotty. I of course was considered the doubting Thomas at the table. I figure if some one has made teleportation work you couldn’t keep it much of a secret.

After lunch I went to a piano recital and then went to the pool. The sun was really strong and I stayed out there less than half an hour. It was formal night again and dinner was uneventful. The entertainment was the song and dance troop from the ship and while they were athletic their performance was nothing special.
