March 3rd, Monday

One more day at sea, but we’re crossing the equator again and King Neptune will be dealing with the pollywogs on deck at 11. Weather is balmy and sea is calm. We’re relaxing and reading.

We’re entering Indonesia and passing islands occasional that look like old volcano formed peaks coming out of the ocean.

I’ve started keeping track of the horses prepping for the Kentucky Derby by reading hype starting.

Chris and I ate lunch outside on the back deck because the weather was so pleasant. I went to the piano recital in the afternoon and then we read and got ready for the Virtuoso cocktail party. We learned we’re going to a tour of Saigon and a “light lunch” at the old Presidential Palace (the list of foods left us with the impression that we don’t understand the Vietnamese definition of “light lunch”).

We’ve been going over our future excursions and canceling some because from our recent experiences two in the same day are both tiring and repetitive, as well as not worth the extra money.

Dinner was uneventful but the entertainment was a split bill of the previous night’s magician and the female singer. The program was very good and the magician was very entertaining. He did another card trick with two gentlemen from the audience and used an egg beater as an “ESP” device to get one man to get his wife to identify the card he had picked from a deck.
