A beautiful day in Barcelona! The weather started out a little cool but the sun was shining and it warmed up nicely. We went on a tour sponsored by Virtuoso – we stopped at the Joan Miro Foundation and got to see some of her permanent exhibition works. We travel past the new harbor and then took a walk through an older area of the city by a cathedral and old roman ruins and palaces that are now museums.
Our next stop was the Sagrada Familai Church which was busy with workmen – more so than the last time we were here. It also looks like a lot of progress has been made over the last few years. I’ll have to compare pictures I took when we were last here in 2000.
We stopped for a little shopping so we could get some decorations for the Christmas tree and then went for a great lunch at the Principal Restaurant. Lunch was light but very good with some salad dish, sole that was in a squash and olive oil sauce and flan for dessert. Of course we were entertained by a guitarist playing classical Spanish music.
All in all a wonderful day. On to Lisbon!
