April 1st, Tuesday

A wonderful day at sea started with sighting a school of dolphins swimming next to the ship for about half an hour. The weather is perfect and the sea was almost as calm as a lake. After our experience in Dubai we decided that an 8 hour tour in Athens followed by an evening out would be too much, so we changed the morning tour to just a trip to the Acropolis (since neither of us had climbed it the last time we were there) and a little shopping so that we can get back to the ship and rest before our evening out.

We had breakfast with a good group of couples and didn’t do much the rest of the morning except relax. We had lunch with our friends from the Isle of Wright trying to help Mike with his camera. He had taken some pictures without the memory card and I was trying to recover them for him. Coincidentally one of the waitresses at the Lido deck noticed us and helped since she had the same camera. It turns out that the pictures without the memory card aren’t saved in that kind of camera.

While Chris relaxed on the balcony I went to the golf nets and then went for a swim and some sun. Dinner was formal and our companions that went to the Taj Mahal were at dinner and we enjoyed hearing all about their trip. Their impressions of India were like ours – lots of poverty and dirt with occasional outstanding sights.

After dinner, neither one of us wanted to go to the evenings show, but it turned out the laundry machines were not in use so we got that done while we could and then turned in.
