March 1st, Saturday

First of 5 days at sea from Australia to Borneo. Good day at sea with weather warm and partly cloudy. Chris and I are now Gold level passengers and as a result we got invited to a Captain’s cocktail party and get 2 free hours of internet service (a valuable benefit at 50 cents a minute).

The only thing special on board was a performance by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts doing another abbreviated Shakespeare play of Richard III called “The Bottled Spider”. It was really done well and made for an enjoyable afternoon. Other than that Chris and I relaxed and rested.

We passed the northern most eastern point of Australia with unusual views of the Great Reef. The entertainment was a female singer who had a great voice and sang musical theater numbers like “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess and “Memories” from Cats. She needs a new wardrobe though.
